about-us

The 2nd Monday of the month is our competition night.

  • Our Competition Program is available from our website.
  • There are 3 grades, Advanced, A and B. B Grade is usually for beginner photographers.
  • We have photos presented both in print form as well as Digital (EDI) option. (EDI – Electronic Data Images)
  • Both Digital and Print contests require you to enter online on this website and include a digital copy of each entry. This will be displayed in an image gallery on the website
  •  All photographs are displayed and critiqued by the judge on the night. Most judges provide very beneficial feedback, from which we all learn
  • At the end of the year we run our “Photo of the Year”competition (POTY). The photos entered in this competition must be photographs that have been entered in competitions throughout the year.

The 4th Monday of the month is our tutorial night.

  • We have had many and varied tutorials and continue to do so every month.
  • Suggestions from members as to what tutorials they would like to have are very welcome.

Visitors are always welcome to come along however visitors cannot enter any competitions until they become a member of the club. Follow the link under About us for info on joining.

Need a Photography Outing

The Wangi Workers Camera Club visited the Hunter Region Botanic Gardens recently.

The Gardens are a great place to visit between late August and Mid October to take advantage of the many photo opportunities that go with Spring flowering although there is always something in flower throughout the year

Most of the Theme Gardens held flowering plants on the day and lucky explorers found some of the many Terrestrial Orchids that occur at the Garden. Approx. 30 species have been found to date with new ones being added to the list periodically.

As good as the general garden areas were there was great interest shown in the Tropical Orchid House where there was a host of blooms to capture. The two Orchid Houses are a colourful delight in Spring with a number of Orchids flowering at other times of the year.

The Gardens are open from 9 till 4 most days and photographers are most welcome.

The Gardens web site and facebook pages can be accessed going to the following address

PSA Interclub Entries

I have created four new competitions for PSA Interclub.

The four divisions are – Open, Nature, Creative and Travel.

We did not enter Open previously and it includes Colour and Monochrome with no restrictions on editing etc.

These are all open for uploads now and all close on the same day Sunday 3rd November at 11pm. Each member can submit two images in each division. The images are the same size as our club entries and can be selected from existing club images or can be new images not previously used for club comps. Scroll to the bottom of the competitions page on the club website to find the PSA competitions.

You cannot use an image which was selected previously for the PSA Interclubs. There were only six images selected for each round. If you entered it previously and it was not one of the six images selected, you can re-enter the same image. I have a list of images submitted previously so if you are not sure, drop me a line.

If you are a member of Belmont as well as Wangi, you can only enter for one club so at this point you must select which club and this will apply for the next three rounds on the Interclub Comp.

Please go through your images and enter all divisions if you can. You can change an image later before the closing date as with our club comps.

I would like ALL members to contribute and if you’re unsure if your image meets the requirements, please ask for feedback. This is a great opportunity to extend your photography.
