PSA Interclub Call for Entries
Thank you to those who have recently uploaded new images for the PSA Interclub competition.
The closing date is Sunday 30 January at 11.59pm.
There were many excellent images in the last club competition and even if the judge did not rate your image highly, your peers may think otherwise when they select our entries. Images are scored by our advanced members with scores from 1 – 5 and the images with the highest totals are then used for our entry selection using one image from six different members.
I will make available the scores so that you can see where your images were ranked.
Please go on to the club website and click Members and the five PSA Interclub buttons are shown there.
If you have a new image which has not been in a club comp, you can enter it here and get some feedback via the scores.
Thanks again
Ian English – PSA Interclub Coordinator

February Competition
Hi All,
I believe our first Print competition since early 2020 was a great success last night.
Unfortunately I couldn’t make it along to the meeting.
Thank you to everyone who stepped into my role in my absence.
Well done to the committee members who worked so hard to bring this all together.
I believe there were once again some very impressive images from our very talented members. What a great start to the year.
Congratulations and well done everyone!
Our judge was Tim Moon, assisted by his wife Robin. Tim and Robin travelled from Sydney to judge for was.
I was very disappointed that I couldn’t be at the club to meet them and hear them judging.
They had already done a fantastic job of judging our digitals online.
I believe everyone will have benefitted from their thorough comments.
Thank you very much to Colleen and David Price for hosting Tim and Robin overnight.
Our next competition night is on Monday 14th February and at this stage it is anticipated that the meeting will be at the club in the auditorium.
Entries will be both print and digitals as per our pre-Covid days.
Our February digital images are due in by 11:59 pm Saturday 29th January. That gives us only 18 more days.
Unfortunately, if you miss the deadline there is nothing we can do. The images are passed onto the judge early in the morning on the day after and the competition cannot be reopened.
The prints sections will close 2 days before competition night (At 11:59 pm on the Saturday before the competition. Saturday 12thFebruary).
You will then bring your prints with you on the night and have them on the stands by 6:30.
Please put the dates in your calendar where you’ll remember.
Our set subject for February is:
An Empty Road – The definition for “An Empty Road” is…..
Any image that features an empty road. The empty road must be dominant in the scene.
As well as our set subject we will have are usual colour and mono categories.
Please remember that for 2022 we can still only enter 3 images each in total.
Note: We can only put in 2 entries per section (Colour, Mono or Set Subject) per member.
We could choose 2 prints or 2 EDI’s or 1 Print and 1 EDI per section.
Remember, print and digital for each section is 1 category for the purposes of entering.
Our judge for February is Peita Ward. Peita is another judge who will be visiting our area specially to judge for us.
Thank you very much to Susan and David Hansell for offering to act as overnight hosts for Peita.
Unfortunately, I don’t have any information about Peita to provide to you at this stage. I’ll let everyone know when I hear from Peita with a brief BIO.
Good luck to everyone and have fun taking and putting together some “An Empty Road” photos.
If you have any questions please contact me on suewinsley@iinet.net.au
Cheers, Sue Winsley (Competition Steward).

PSA Interclub Results Creative, Nature, Travel and PJ
We again have done well in Creative but mixed results in the others.
In Nature the judging club was from Beijing and you will see that Mike Martin’s image was scored 3 with the note “Cultivated Plant”. I was very annoyed at this as I was sitting in the boat on Yellow Water Billabong in Kakadu NP beside Mike when he took it. I have written to the interclub coordinator and nature Div Director expressing my disappointment and annoyance and also asked that the judging club be sent my email. Unfortunately it is after the fact and cannot be changed now. We all know about judges interpretations !!
In the Travel, I made a mistake and submitted John and Janet Payne’s images both under Janet’s name. Apologies for that, first mistake in three years so a lesson for me to triple check.
Congrats to the all the award winners coming from both Advanced and A grades.
