PSA Interclub Rd 2 Creative Results
Finally received the results for Creative and still waiting on Photojournalism. Not such a strong result and we slipped to second overall so hopefully will have a stronger Rd 3. Congrats to Bettina and Dianne for their Merit awards. I have included Group B for interest to see the other Aussie clubs.

PSA Interclub Travel Rd 2 Results
We had a better result this round. We were able to include a make up image for Janet Payne this time after my error in round 1 and this has brought our scores back to normal with an equal 4th placing now after round 2.

April Competition
Once again we had another very successful competition night at the club last night with quite a few of our members present.
As you all know we split our judging up for this month, with digital being judged by Roy Killen and our prints being judged by our very own Ian English.
We normally would prefer to just have the one judge but Roy is still not comfortable going to venues where there may be a lot of people due to health concerns.
Thank you very much to Ian for stepping in to judge our prints for us.
I’m sure that everyone who was there last night will all agree that Ian did a fabulous job judging our prints and gave us some very good tips for improving our images.
It is great to see prints from our members again. There were some very impressive images.
Congratulations and well done everyone!
Our next competition night is on Monday 11th April and will be held at the club in the auditorium.
Entries will be both digitals and prints.
Our April DIGITAL IMAGES are due in by 11:59 pm Saturday 26th March. That gives us only 11 more days.
Unfortunately, if you miss the deadline there is nothing we can do. The images are passed onto the judge early in the morning on the day after and the competition cannot be reopened.
The good news is that now that we’re back to having prints, if you miss the deadline for the digitals you can choose to put in print entries instead.
The PRINT IMAGE section will close 2 days before competition night (At 11:59 pm on the Saturday before the competition. Saturday 9th April).
You will then bring your prints with you on the night and have them on the stands by 6:30. This will give our judge time to review the prints before our competition night starts at 7 pm.
Please put the dates in your calendar where you’ll remember.
Our set subject for April is:
“Dead Trees” – The definition we have is “Any image that features a dead tree or trees. The dead tree/trees must be dominant in the image”.
As well as our set subject we will have are usual colour and mono categories.
Please remember that we can only enter 3 images each in total with no more than 2 in any category.
Our judge for April is Mick Lynch.
Mick has judged for us before and has always done a great job of judging.
Below is a bit of information about Mick.
Michael Lynch has been practicing photography since 1972 and is a successful entrant in National and International photographic competitions, and over the years has acquired many awards and is now a regular International Entrant. He is an Accredited Judge and still judge’s competitions throughout NSW camera clubs.
Michael has great interest in all aspects of photography, encouraging and enjoys helping beginners and is encouraged by the magnificent work that local club members are producing in their local competitions. He is a passionate Black & White landscape, animal, wedding and portrait photographer.
Good luck to everyone and enjoy taking and putting together some “Dead tree/trees” images.

PSA Interclub Rd 2 Nature Results
Another solid performance with no awards this round. As with the Open result, we remain one point ahead of our neighbours Belmont 16s.
Please be on the lookout for new nature images for Rd 3 and submit them to the website before closing at the end of the month.

Portfolio Night Monday 7th March
This group meeting will be on for any members who wish to bring along their project images and, if possible, a laptop. I will still be away so have asked Ian Nunn to assist members who need help with editing skills. This group is to be seen as a social and member help group to help review and provide constructive feedback to each other on their chosen portfolio I hope to have a river gum tree collection after our journey along the Murray. Happy Snapping everyone and stay dry.

Monday 28th Tutorial
Don’t forget to join us for our tutorial at the Wangi Club on Monday night for a great presention by our own Di and Ian English who have developed this presentation along with David Hansell. It’s title is YOU BE THE JUDGE. I would encourage as many of our members as possible to attend, if available, as it will be a great learning tool for your own images and lots of fun as well!
This evening is designed to put you in the shoes of the judge so that you will have a better understanding of what makes a good competition image. It will be very interactive, nonconfrontational and a lot of fun. Ian and Di look forward to seeing a great number of you attending for your own benefit!
Thank you Dianne and Ian for presenting this opportunity to our members!
Cheers to all, Toni
