Our club is based at the Wangi Workers Club at Wangi Wangi NSW

We meet at the Wangi Workers’ Club in the Dobell Room at 7.00pm on the 2nd and 4th Mondays of the month.

The club’s mission statement is:

“a shared enjoyment of the art and craft of photography in a learning environment”

Use the green About Us button for information on our club and what we do.

The 2nd Monday of the month is our competition night.

  • Our Competition Program is available from our website.
  • There are 3 grades, Advanced, A and B. B Grade is usually for beginner photographers.
  • We have photos presented both in print form as well as Digital (EDI) option. (EDI – Electronic Data Images)
  • Both Digital and Print contests require you to enter online on this website and include a digital copy of each entry. This will be displayed in an image gallery on the website
  •  All photographs are displayed and critiqued by the judge on the night. Most judges provide very beneficial feedback, from which we all learn
  • At the end of the year we run our “Photo of the Year”competition (POTY). The photos entered in this competition must be photographs that have been entered in competitions throughout the year.

The 4th Monday of the month is our tutorial night.

  • We have had many and varied tutorials and continue to do so every month.
  • Suggestions from members as to what tutorials they would like to have are very welcome.

Visitors are always welcome to come along however visitors cannot enter any competitions until they become a member of the club. Follow the link under About us for info on joining.

Results PSA Interclub Travel (2)

Results are in for the first round of Travel for the new year of interclub. Travel is our weakest genre of the four divisions we are entering and we were not disgraced this round but not up to the same high standards we achieved in the other two results we have had so far. Clearly we have to work harder on this type of photography and this is a good thing as we learn what makes a good travel image. I have included the results for Belmont which is in the same group, as people may be interested to see results from our friends and neighbouring club. We finished equal 6th and Belmont came in 9th out of the 20 clubs in our group. Once again a big thank you to all who submitted images for consideration and let’s try to move up the ladder next round. The large chart shows the award winners and some of the scores down to the first 8s.

Results PSA Interclub Open (1)

Another wonderful success for our club in the Open Division. We are in Group E with 25 other clubs. Our six entries gained four awards with Dianne’s image “Grannys Bonnet” scoring 14/15 and earning a gold medal. Other award winners were David Hansell, Colleen Price and Ian English. This was judged by a Chinese club – Jiahua Elite Photography Association. We are three points clear of the next club in our group. Huge thanks to everyone who submitted images for consideration and I want to encourage everyone to keep putting in images so we have a large body of work to select from. You never know when your turn will come. Please click on “more” to see results tables. You can also go to this link to see the awarded images for the Creative Interclub recently closed – https://psa-photo.org/index.php?2019-20-pid-creative-interclub-round-one

Results PSA Interclub Creative (1)

Once again Wangi has excelled in the creative comp. I have attached the results and now we await the other three interclub comp results. We achieved four awards out of the six images entered. The judging panel was comprised of some of the best competition photographers in the UK.

Well done to all who entered images for consideration. We cannot use any of the six images which were presented but all of the other images not selected will be eligible to represent when the entries open for round two earlier in the New Year. Please click the “more” button to see the tables of results.

Voting Results for PSA Interclub Round 1

There were seven Advanced Grade members judging with scores between 1 – 5 for each image. As we can only submit one image per member, some of the images had to be dropped out. The top six images in each section have been selected. We can use the non selected images for future rounds as well as the fabulous images you will capture in the meantime.
