Welcome

Our club is based at the Wangi Workers Club at Wangi Wangi NSW

We meet at the Wangi Workers’ Club in the Dobell Room at 7.00pm on the 2nd and 4th Mondays of the month.

The club’s mission statement is:

“a shared enjoyment of the art and craft of photography in a learning environment”

Use the green About Us button for information on our club and what we do.

about-us

The 2nd Monday of the month is our competition night.

  • Our Competition Program is available from our website.
  • There are 3 grades, Advanced, A and B. B Grade is usually for beginner photographers.
  • We have photos presented both in print form as well as Digital (EDI) option. (EDI – Electronic Data Images)
  • Both Digital and Print contests require you to enter online on this website and include a digital copy of each entry. This will be displayed in an image gallery on the website
  •  All photographs are displayed and critiqued by the judge on the night. Most judges provide very beneficial feedback, from which we all learn
  • At the end of the year we run our “Photo of the Year”competition (POTY). The photos entered in this competition must be photographs that have been entered in competitions throughout the year.

The 4th Monday of the month is our tutorial night.

  • We have had many and varied tutorials and continue to do so every month.
  • Suggestions from members as to what tutorials they would like to have are very welcome.

Visitors are always welcome to come along however visitors cannot enter any competitions until they become a member of the club. Follow the link under About us for info on joining.

2021 Set Subject Ideas.

2021 seems so far away.. but we all know how fast time can fly.

Some of our members like to be very organised and start planning their entries a long way in advance, which is great to see, so it is time to start our planning.

There are 5 Set Subjects that we will have every year… these are:
* Creative
* Travel
* Nature
* Environment (Alternating between Landscape/Seascape and Flora) and
* Photo Journalism (This will be new for us in 2021)

That will leave us 5 other set subjects to choose from.
We still have a list of ideas that were presented last year and for our mystery subject that will be considered.
Now is the time to send us ideas of any set subjects that you would like to see included in our program for 2021.

How it works is that all members will put forward their ideas and these will be voted on by the committee. The 5 proposed set subjects with the most votes will be included in next year’s program.

Please send your ideas to me at suewinsley@iinet.net.au

I’ll look forward to hearing all your ideas.

Membership Fees Due

A key message for all of our Members. Our 2020/21 Membership Fees are due to be paid by July 31st 2020. Our annual fee remains $40 per member

In previous years many of you have paid the incumbent treasurer directly with cash, unfortunately this year that is not practical as we are currently not having physical meetings. Therefore, I am asking all members to make their payment directly to the club account.

You can find the Club Account Details on the Membership renewal page. There is a button on the members page ( the page you use for competition entries), Or try this link

Please remember to put your name in the reference so that I will be able to record who has paid their fees.

Many Thanks

July Entry Date

Hi Everyone,

This post is just to remind you that we only have 1 week until our July entries are due in.
Our Entries for our July Competition are due in at 11pm on Saturday the 27th June.
This will be the first time our entries need to be in 2 weeks prior to our competition night.

You will have already received an email with the details of our judge and the Set Subject and it’s definition.

Unfortunately, if you miss the deadline there is nothing we can do. The images are passed onto the judge early in the morning on the day after and the competition cannot be reopened.

Please put the date in your calendar or somewhere where you’ll remember.

Our next competition night is on Monday 13th July.

2020 AGM Agenda

Our AGM will be held on Monday 22 June 2020 just before the Lightroom tutorial.

We are expecting quite a short meeting as there is no need for election of office bearers and no constitutional matters to be raised with members. But we will have some useful information for you. See too our summary of some great successes for the year

I have loaded the Agenda and some reports onto the website and you can access them using this link or go to the Club Rules and Documents page.

If you have any questions please contact Susan. The link to the Zoom meeting will be sent out about midday on Monday 22 June and I will open the line from 6.30pm ahead of a 7pm start.
