Our club is based at the Wangi Workers Club at Wangi Wangi NSW

We meet at the Wangi Workers’ Club in the Dobell Room at 7.00pm on the 2nd and 4th Mondays of the month.

The club’s mission statement is:

“a shared enjoyment of the art and craft of photography in a learning environment”

Use the green About Us button for information on our club and what we do.

The 2nd Monday of the month is our competition night.

  • Our Competition Program is available from our website.
  • There are 3 grades, Advanced, A and B. B Grade is usually for beginner photographers.
  • We have photos presented both in print form as well as Digital (EDI) option. (EDI – Electronic Data Images)
  • Both Digital and Print contests require you to enter online on this website and include a digital copy of each entry. This will be displayed in an image gallery on the website
  •  All photographs are displayed and critiqued by the judge on the night. Most judges provide very beneficial feedback, from which we all learn
  • At the end of the year we run our “Photo of the Year”competition (POTY). The photos entered in this competition must be photographs that have been entered in competitions throughout the year.

The 4th Monday of the month is our tutorial night.

  • We have had many and varied tutorials and continue to do so every month.
  • Suggestions from members as to what tutorials they would like to have are very welcome.

Visitors are always welcome to come along however visitors cannot enter any competitions until they become a member of the club. Follow the link under About us for info on joining.

August Competition

Hi All,
Our August competition is fast approaching.
Our set subject for August is one of our regular subjects that we have every year. It is “Environment Landscape/Seascape”.
The definition for Environment Landscape/Seascape is:
Nature except that human elements may be present in the image, and the story telling value of a photograph shall not be weighed more than the pictorial quality of the image.

Of course we also have our usual “Open Colour” and “Open Mono” as well.

Please remember you can choose to enter EDI or Print or a combination of both.
Just remember that we can only enter 3 images in total and only 2 in any category.

Our judge for August is Arthur Roy. Arthur is a very accomplished photographer and judge and has judged for our club previously.
Here is a little information about Arthur:

  • Arthur has a string of acceptances, awards & publications. And as you will see from the following summary of his successes, he is well qualified to critique all these images before us.
  • He was first published in The International Photography 2000 magazine with a scenic image
  • SMH 2006 – Birdlife in Kakudo
  • Egret Chasing Fish was published in Ken Duncan’s Paradise Revealed, the Newcastle Herald & SMH in 2015
  • Winner of Australian Conservancy National competition 2015 & cover picture for ABCRA’s Rodeo Christmas issue 2015
  • After joining The Entrance Camera Club in 2009, Arthur has won 16 wall plaques, ( 2 from Top Shot), 26 International  & 23 National Medals
  • He also has won 3 International FIAP Blue Badges for Best Exhibitor in Belgium, India & Australia
  • 3 trophies Nationally for Best Exhibitor (2013 to 2015)
  • As well as hundreds of acceptances Nationally & Internationally

Our August competition night is Monday 12th August.

The closing dates for entering our August competition are 11pm on Saturday 3rd August for EDI’s (this coming weekend) and 11pm on Saturday 10th August for our print entries.

Good luck to everyone.
