about-us

The 2nd Monday of the month is our competition night.

  • Our Competition Program is available from our website.
  • There are 3 grades, Advanced, A and B. B Grade is usually for beginner photographers.
  • We have photos presented both in print form as well as Digital (EDI) option. (EDI – Electronic Data Images)
  • Both Digital and Print contests require you to enter online on this website and include a digital copy of each entry. This will be displayed in an image gallery on the website
  •  All photographs are displayed and critiqued by the judge on the night. Most judges provide very beneficial feedback, from which we all learn
  • At the end of the financial year we run our “Photo of the Year”competition (POTY). The photos entered in this competition must be photographs that have been entered in competitions throughout the year.

The 4th Monday of the month is our tutorial night.

  • We have had many and varied tutorials and continue to do so every month.
  • Suggestions from members as to what tutorials they would like to have are very welcome.

Visitors are always welcome to come along however visitors cannot enter any competitions until they become a member of the club. Follow the link under About us for info on joining.

Update for outing to Australian Championships Street Skateboarding

If we could all meet at the Morisset round-about near the Golf Course at 10.45am Saturday 28th and sort car sharing out , that will minimise the number of people driving down.

If don’t plan to meet at 10.45am, can you send me a text on 0413849846 so we don’t wait around.

Unfortunately, if it is raining, the event will be cancelled

Boxing Day Sydney to Hobart Yacht Race

Ian Nunn goes up onto South Head on Boxing Day each year to photograph the start of the Sydney Hobart yacht race (weather permitting). It is a good vantage point You see the boats come out to the sea buoy before the start of the race, then after the start you get a good view of the whole fleet coming down the harbour, rounding the sea buoys and then heading off down the coast.
If any members of the club would like to join Ian he could arrange to meet you at Central Station or Edgecliff station.
Ian normally travel to Edgecliff by train, catches a bus to Watson Bay and walks up onto South Head.

Would  need to be at Central around 10 – 10:30am.
