about-us

The 2nd Monday of the month is our competition night.

  • Our Competition Program is available from our website.
  • There are 3 grades, Advanced, A and B. B Grade is usually for beginner photographers.
  • We have photos presented both in print form as well as Digital (EDI) option. (EDI – Electronic Data Images)
  • Both Digital and Print contests require you to enter online on this website and include a digital copy of each entry. This will be displayed in an image gallery on the website
  •  All photographs are displayed and critiqued by the judge on the night. Most judges provide very beneficial feedback, from which we all learn
  • At the end of the financial year we run our “Photo of the Year”competition (POTY). The photos entered in this competition must be photographs that have been entered in competitions throughout the year.

The 4th Monday of the month is our tutorial night.

  • We have had many and varied tutorials and continue to do so every month.
  • Suggestions from members as to what tutorials they would like to have are very welcome.

Visitors are always welcome to come along however visitors cannot enter any competitions until they become a member of the club. Follow the link under About us for info on joining.

PAINTING WITH LIGHT!

Our tutorial on Monday 24th will be presented by Bill Chamber and will involve Painting with Light.

Having seen one of Bill’s presentations on this subject I am sure that you will be well entertained. This is a tutorial for members to participate and get some interesting images so you will need to bring along your camera, tripod and remote shutter release. Also bring a torch for adjusting your settings in the dark. We maybe able to do a follow up workshop as well to make your own light set ups.

This tutorial will be held straight after our AGM.

NPF Closing 21st June.

NPF will be closing at 11pm on Friday 21st June, so get your entries in ASAP!

For those of you with print entries, I am arranging for them to be picked up from Wangi on Monday night the 24th June at our AGM and tutorial. This will be your one and only chance to have them picked up.

Entering and attending this competition is a good opportunity to have your images judged with other club entries, as well as a great learning curve from the presentations on both Saturday and Sunday. Make the most of it and enjoy mixing with like minded people.

Uploading previously submitted images…

…. and other new website features

Here is a message from Colin on how to view and upload your own previously submitted images. https://wangi.myphotoclub.com.au/wp-content/uploads/sites/65/2019/06/Post-re-website-features.pdf

At present it looks like only images from the start of this year can be viewed. We’ll explore if it will be possible to add earlier images.

June Competition

Hi All,

Our June comp is fast approaching.

Our EDI’s are due to be uploaded to the site by this coming Saturday (1st June) by 11pm and our print entries are due to be uploaded by Saturday 8th June at 11pm.

Our set subject for June is “Trees”. This can be a single tree or a group of trees.
Of course we also have our other usual categories of “Colour” and “Mono”.

Our judge for July is Roy Killen. Most of us already know Roy and are very familiar with Roy’s photography and having him as a judge.

Good luck to everyone and if anyone needs any more information you can email me on suewinsley@iinet.net.au or ring me on 0417677438

Cheers, Sue Winsley (Competition Steward).
